Rutland ICT - Terms & Conditions of Sale of Goods and Services
These terms and conditions apply to orders for goods and services via the web site http://www.rict.co.uk, or by post, by email or by telephone following access to the website. For further clarification of these terms and conditions, or if in any doubt about a potential purchase please, contact us in the first instance.
SELLER: The Seller is Rutland ICT Ltd ("The Company"), a private company registered in England whose registered office is at 4 Queen Street, Uppingham Rutland LE15 9QR. Company reg. 4320627. VAT reg. 7852231223. The Company commenced trading in November 2001. The Company is an authorised reseller of Edgy Productions merechandise, Orange, Vodafone, T-mobile, 3 and Virgin mobile phones and contracts. The Company is also an Executive of Telecom Plus PLC (Utility Warehouse).
GUARANTEE: Computer hardware products are guaranteed free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the time of delivery. The guarantee is not liable in respect of any defects arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, misuse or alteration. All new computer hardware is supplied either with a 12 month limited warranty from the Company or with a 12 month warranty from the manufacturer which we pass on to you. Unless stated otherwise on a quotation or invoice or on this website, all hardware warranties are with the original equipment manufacturer. In some circumstances these warranties may be longer than 12 months e.g. by purchasing our own extended warranty. Some individual hardware components (e.g. Intel CPUs) may have a warranty beyond the warranty of the whole computer supplied by the Company. In these circumstances the warranty reverts to the manufacturer unless the whole computer base unit is covered by an extended warranty issued by the Company..
RESTRICTIONS: Orders for computer hardware and software and onsite technical support services are currently available only in the UK. Remote technical support services are available to customers worldwide. Orders are dealt with in order of priority - determined in the case of electronic orders, by the date stamp on our form-to-email confirmation of payment. We cannot accept responsibility for computer errors which result in order forms or emails from third parties failing to reach us. Customers are requested to check they have received a confirmation by email within 24 hours of placing an order or purchasing goods/services and to assume their attempted submission of the order form was unsuccessful if this is not the case. Orders for Edgy Productions merchandise are through Rutland ICT in contractual and financial terms although Edgy Productions has agreed to handle all queries regarding such orders.
CONFIRMATION: You should receive an automated confirmation of reciept for any credit/debit card purchases made through this website and Barclaycard Merchant Services. Online debit/credit card payments are confirmed by email both by the Company and by Barclays Merchant Services. For any email orders submitted via our online forms you can expect to receive confirmation within 24 hours of submission Monday - Friday. We will contact you as soon as possible to confirm the order and settle payments if you have not paid online by debit/credit card in advance.
PRICES/ PAYMENT: Payment is by credit or debit card (through Barclaycard Merchant Services), by post using a cheque or postal order to the address given in the invoice (also available on our contact us page) or by cash in our workshop. You will be charged the current displayed price for buying goods or services from our web site at the date you place your order. All prices displayed include VAT at 17.5% unless otherwise stated.
DELIVERY: Delivery of goods in the UK is subject to availability and normally occurs within 2 days of receipt of payment. However, please allow up to 14 days for delivery for all goods. International delivery of remote support services or digital files is as arranged or as advertised for each individual transaction. In the event of supply difficulties, we will contact you to offer you a full refund. All hardware deliveries are by registered post/courier and must be signed for.
CANCELLATION/EXCHANGE/REFUND (incorporating Distance Selling Regulations): If a product (hardware or software) purchased via the website is found to be faulty, you should return it to us (within 14 days if the item is not covered by a warranty), giving reasons, and we will issue a replacement. We regret we are unable to refund the cost of postage and cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit from you to us. All individual customers have the right to cancel any website order within 7 days of your contract with Rutland ICT, or 7 days after receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer) if they are not satisfied with their purchase. If you choose to cancel your order you will have your payment returned subject to products being returned to the Company in an undamaged state including all packaging and labels. Professional ICT Remote Support Services are provided according to our Customer Charter and the high levels of service our customers have come to expect. If you reasonably feel we fall short of your expectations you are entitled to claim a refund at the same hourly rate the service was purchased at - such claims will be considered by a Director whose decision regarding a refund is final. Digital files purchased and downloaded by you or emailed to you, or transmitted to you during a remote support session are guaranteed free from viruses or defects at the time of download or transmission. Faulty files will be replaced but we regret the cost of these items cannot be refunded due to the nature of the product. The cost of software activated online or by telephone by you or by us on your behalf cannot be refunded unless it is faulty.

GENERAL: All matters concerning and incidental to any offer or agreement for the purchase and sale of goods from our web site shall be construed and governed according to English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction in all such matters. These terms and conditions do not in any way affect your statutory rights.
